ABPMP International is Accepting 

Nominations for Board of Directors’ Positions 

for the 2021-2022 Term 

 

Another year has passed, and it is time once again to elect new positions on the next ABPMP Board of Directors. We would like to solicit all ABPMP members who would be interested in one of the open BOD positions for the 2021-2022 term. Current open BOD positions and job descriptions are listed below. Terms of service are one year for President and two years for all other positions. 

 

What you need to do: 

 

·    Read and understand the responsibilities of the BOD position in which you are interested (Click here for Board Roles.

·    If you want to nominate someone, including yourself, please fill out the nomination form on the ABPMP website using this link. Be sure to indicate the candidate’s position of interest no later than Wednesday, December 12. 

·    Please provide one-half to one page of commentary explaining why the candidate is a good fit for the office, along with qualifications. (Please note that current Board members are excluded.) 

 

 

Following is a list of the current open BOD positions: 

 

·    President and Chair— also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the President is responsible for providing leadership and direction, is the general representative to outside groups, and bears final accountability for the health and well-being of ABPMP. 

·    Vice President of Operations— also the Chief Operations Officer (COO), is responsible for managing the ABPMP’s administrative and business operations, and for supervising administrative contractors and personnel.    

·    Vice President of Chapter Services— responsible for developing new chapters and assisting chapters in maintaining successful programs. 

·    Vice President of Conference Services— responsible for managing the association’s brand image and providing ABPMP with public relations services. 

 

Candidates must be members in good standing with ABPMP and have CBPP Certification or obtain certification during their first year as International Board Members. Self-nominations are accepted. 

 

The typical time commitment expected for Board members is generally 8 to 10 hours per month. Certain sub-committee activities may require more time. The ABPMP Board is a working Board focusing on both the strategic direction of the society and the tactical execution of projects and programs. The Board of Directors’ service is a real opportunity for personal and professional growth. It also allows the member to help develop and shape the future of the ABPMP society in whole. Board members will be expected to attend in person semiannual board meetings.
